Modified bitumen membrane production line is that making asphalt ,rubber powder,machine oil ,stone powder together to be the mixed material,then to make the material glue with base material after heating and extruding,next step is that composted PE film or rock particles on the double side of formed membrane ,the device is automatically formed,cooled,and adjusted by tension control,automatic rolled into winder membrane which control by traction device,finally made up bitumen waterproof membrane ,it has good production structure,and good properties of peel strength ,tensile strength ,tear ,elongation,Low temperature,aging and other comprehensive performance is very good ,it can be used directly by self adhesive and paste roasted ,and it also can be bonded directly on the concrete base ,adhesive strength ,difficult to falling ,construction is extremely simple and convenient.

Working principle
The whole working principle can be divided into 3 steps.
1.To mix the bitumen,rubber powder , talcum powder , engine oil and some other raw materials via mixing tanks(the mixing tank should be kept warm by conduction oil).The finished mixtures can be called bituminous mixtures .
2.The bituminous mixtures will be deliveryed into coating pools.Then the base material(reinforcement)will be coated with the bituminous mixtures.At last ,the coated reinforcement will be covered by PE film or sand or other materials.At that time ,the bitumen membrane preliminary forming.
3.The finished products will be cooled by water and air,then be rolled by auto-winder.
Advantages of SBS Modified Asphalt
Buildings today incorporate lighter-weight structural materials than those built years ago. Contemporary roofing systems should, therefore, have the ability to withstand the increased substrate movements and deflections. Durability of the roof can be assured through good planning and by the correct specification and installation of the waterproofing system.
Asphalt is still the best-known waterproofing material. However, it has poor aging characteristics, becomes brittle in cold weather, is fluid in hot weather, and has little resistance to fatigue. Elastomeric compounds such as SBS (styrene-butadiene-styrene) substantially improve these properties. SBS rubber is flexible and has the memory to return to its original form. The addition of SBS rubber to asphalt increases the flow characteristics and improves the low-temperature flexibility and fatigue resistance of roofing asphalt. The end product is a high-performance, 2-3 ply system. Some of the advantages of the system are:
Flexibility of application method:
Heat Welded:
Ideal for areas where it is impractical to use hot asphalt (e.g., hospital, schools, and high-rises).
Cold Adhesive:
Minimizes the presence of any odor during the project.
Hot Asphalt:
The most economical way to apply the membrane. Better suited for new construction and larger projects.
Self Adhesive:
Ideal for projects where above installations are not feasible.
Ease of Maintenance:
Unlike single ply membranes which need to be maintained by "authorized contractor", SBS Modified Asphalt membranes can easily be maintained by in house maintenance staff.
Compared to single ply membranes, which are applied in one layer of 40-80 mils thickness, SBS modified systems are applied in 2-3 ply applications, ranging from 220 mils to 300 mils thickness. The redundancy of multiple layers reduces the chance of workmanship error and increases the ability to withstand traffic and numerous penetrations within the roofing system.
SBS Modified Asphalt Roofing Systems utilize a minimum of Two layers (smooth & Granulated) in constructing the Flashing. Unlike single ply roofs which only have one layer of 40-80 mils thick in their flashing the superior construction gives the flashing more ability to withstand movement and temperature fluctuation.

Application methods
1.Make sure the roof deck smooth,clean and dry(Moisture<9%),then apply the surface of roof deck homogeneously with a kind bitumen paint till dry to start application.
2.There are two methods in application:
One way is by heating and melting method---Heat the polyethylene film of the membrane and roof deck surface by heating and melting method to be nearly melted (not flowing),then install the membrane fully bonded to the roof deck with overlaps of 5-10cm.The other way is by cold adhesive method---Pour the cold adhesive homogeneously on the roof deck,then roll the membrane to install it to be fully sticked to roof deck.By heating and melting method and by cold adhesive can be used in alternation in application as requested.
3.After application ,a full serious inspection is required to sure no air bubble,no fold,no falling away etc. to guarantee the waterproof life.
